Regarding the Implementation of the 

Project in January – December 2013

privind implementarea proiectului

 în perioada ianuarie –  decembrie 2013

 In compliance with the objectives presented in paragraph C 2 (project description) of Section 3 of the Application for funding for the exploratory research project PN-II-ID-PCE-2011-3-0336  Text and Image in the Romanian Painting of the 16th Century and according to the project implementation plan for the period 2013-2014 (Annex IV to the grant agreement No. 6 5/10/2011) 


 

for the January-December 2013 the following were reached:

I. A carrying on the identification and systematization of the iconographic sources of the 16th century Romanian painting (objective no. 3 of the project proposal).

 1.1. It was completed and published in French in Revue Roumaine d'Histoire de l'Art the study The Orthodox Iconography of the Anapeson (Reclining Christ “sleeping like a lion”) and its Romanian variants.

 

1.2 It was written in French and it was presenting in the final redaction for publication in  Revue Roumaine d’Histoire de l’Art the article The Apostles’ Preach from the External Painting  of Moldoviţa Monastery

 

II. The project team continued to drawing the parallel repertoire of the iconographical types and Slavonic inscriptions in Romanian painting of the sixteenth century (objective no. 6 of the project proposal).

 

2.1 . Between 10 to 14 June 2013 researcher Marina Ileana Sabados and photographer Sorin Chiţu went to Roman town, to Târgul Neamt town and to Suceava monastery.


It was photographed and identified iconographical program of the bishop’s church St. Paraskeva in Roman. The inscriptions were transcribed in the narthex and in the church porch.

 It was researched unique icon of the sixteenth century Our Lady Hodighitria with Baby Jesus at the St. Haralampie church in the town of Târgul Neamţ. It was done documentation, record cards, photography and inscriptions transcribing. 


At the Suceviţa Monastery were investigated the orthodoxes icons of the warehouse of the Suceava district. Were investigated in detail icons: Martyrdom of St. Barbara (16th Century, yet non-published icon!), Sunday of All Saints of Vama (1514), St. Michael the Archangel and St. Paraskeva from Hurjuieni - Gălăneşti (end of the 16th Century). Were examined inscriptions on icons and was researched their particular style and iconography.

2.2. On July 3, 2013 the manager of project has been moving at Snagov monastery for research of the monastery paintings. He was stated specific iconographic program particularities.

 III. In order to disseminate the research results of the project (objective no. 8 of the proposal):

 3.1. The project team opened the website page "Text and Image in the Romanian Medieval Painting of the 16th Century."  The information on this page can be found in Romanian and English at: http://www.medieval.istoria-artei.ro/


   Conform obiectivelor prezentate în paragraful C 2 (descrierea proiectului) al Secţiei 3 al Cererii de finanţare pentru proiectele de cercetare exploratorie PN-II-ID-PCE-2011-3-0336 Text şi imagine în pictura românească din secolul al XVI-lea şi în conformitate cu Planul de realizare al proiectului pe anii 2013-2014 (Anexa IV la contractul de finanţare nr.6 din 5/10/2011) 

pe parcursul etapei ianuarie-decembrie 2013 au fost realizate următoarele:

I. A fost continuată identificarea şi sistematizarea surselor iconografiei picturii româneşti a secolului al XVI-lea (obiectivul nr. 3 al propunerii de proiect).


1.1. A fost finalizat şi publicat în limba franceză în Revue Roumaine d’Histoire de l’Art studiul Iconografia ortodoxă a Somnlui lui Iisus, „adormit ca un leu” şi variantele ei româneşti.


1.2 A fost prezentat în formă finală şi a fost aprobat pentru tipar (de către colegiul redacţional al Revue Roumaine d’Histoire de l’Art) articolul în limba franceză Predica apostolilor din pictura exterioară a mănăstirii Moldoviţa.


II. A fost continuată întocmirea repertoriului paralel al tipurilor iconografice şi al inscripţiilor slavone din pictura românească a secolului al XVI-lea (obiectivul nr. 6 al propunerii de proiect).

2.1. În perioada 10 – 14 iunie 2013 a avut loc deplasarea la Roman, Târgul Neamţ şi la mănăstirea Suceviţa a cercetătoarei Marina Ileana Sabados şi a fotografului Sorin Chiţu.


A fost fotografiat şi identificat programul iconografic, au fost transcrise inscripţiile din pronaosul şi pridvorul bisericii Sf. Parascheva a Episcopiei Romanului.


A fost cercetată icoana inedită din secolul al XVI-lea Maica Domnului Hodighitria cu Pruncul Iisus de la biserica Sf. Haralampie din Târgul Neamţ.  S-a făcut documentarea, fişa obiectului, fotografierea şi transcrierea inscripţiilor.

Au fost cercetate icoanele de la depozitul de artă religioasă a judeţului Suceava de la Mănăstirea Suceviţa. Au fost cercetate în detaliu icoanele Martiriul Sf. Varvara (icoană inedită din sec. XVI), Duminica tuturor sfinţilor de la Vama (1514), Sf. Parascheva şi Sf. Arhanghel Mihail de la Hurjuieni-Gălăneşti (sf. sec. XVI). Au fost verificate inscripţiile de pe icoane, a fost cercetat stilul şi particularităţile lor iconografice.

2.2. Pe 3 iulie 2013 a avut loc deplasarea la mănăstirea Snagov a directorului de proiect în scopul cercetării picturilor mănăstirii. A fost precizat specificul programului iconografic.

III. În scopul diseminării rezultatelor cercetărilor din cadrul proiectului (obiectivul nr. 8 al propunerii de proiect):

3.1. A fost deschisă pagina web a proiectului „Text şi imagine în pictura medievală românească din secolul al XVI-lea”. Informaţiile de pe această pagină web pot fi accesate în limbile română şi engleză la adresa: http://www.medieval.istoria-artei.ro/

 3.2. On 10 to 11 October 2013 was held in Bucharest (at the Institute of Art History "G. Oprescu" of Romanian Academy) the Scientific Session with International Participation "Text and Image in Romanian Painting of the 16th Century". The session was opened by Academician Răzvan Theodorescu (president of the Department of Arts, Architecture and Audio-Visual of the Romanian Academy) and by Prof. Dr. Adrian-Silvan Ionescu (Director of the Institute of Art History "G. Oprescu" of the Romanian Academy). The session was attended of four abroad experts in the medieval orthodox art: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emmanuel Moutafov (Bulgaria, Sofia), Assoc. Prof. Dr. hab. Miroslav Piotr Kruk (Poland, Krakow), Assoc. Prof Dr. Nazar Kozak (Ukraine, Lvov), Prof. dr hab. Tudor Stavila (Moldova, Kishinev). Communications of the session were:


3.2. Pe data de 10 – 11 octombrie 2013 a fost organizată la Bucureşti (la sediul Institutului de Istoria Artei „G. Oprescu”) sesiunea de comunicări ştiinţifice cu participare internaţională „Text şi imagine în pictura românească din secolul al XVI-lea”. Lucrările sesiunii au fost deschise de către academicinul Răzvan Theodorescu (preşedintele Secţiei Arte, Arhitectură şi Audio-Vizual al Academiei Române) şi de către prof. univ. dr. Adrian-Silvan Ionescu (directorul institutului de Istoria Artei „G. Oprescu” al Academiei Române). La sesiune au participat şi 4 experţi în arta ortodoxă medievală din străinătate: conf. univ. dr. Emmanuel Moutafov (Bulgaria, Sofia), conf. univ. dr. hab. Miroslav Piotr Kruk (Polonia, Cracovia), conf. univ. dr. Nazar Kozak (Ucraina, Lvov), prof. univ dr. hab.
